Back Home and Wedding Anniversary!

Well I'm back home in Port again!!  Was expecting to have frizzy hair and sweating like a proverbial pig (actually I don't think pigs sweat do they)  but the weather hasn't been too bad and the hair remains intact so far!
My resolve to cut down on the grog was going super ....that is until friday night.  Had planned to stay in cook pasta have maybe one glass of vino and watch a movie with hubby.  Friends rang up to see if we wanted to go for a meal but as I'd already cooked the pasta I told them to come around and we'd stretch it.  So I quickly whipped up a salad and popped the pasta in the oven to keep warm as they were arriving in half an hour.  Big mistake ....pasta ended up hard, salad limp and we all drank way too much wine!!!!
The next day was our 29th wedding anniversary. We've been together now for 31years.  I so wanted to feel great that day and maybe go out for dinner to a lovely restaurant but the head was doing a little dance of it's own... with drums...so couldn't face up to it.  Anyway ...I got up and waited patiently for hubby to arise and had all the pressies ready with a huge, and I mean really huge bunch of red roses. I put them on the kitchen table and what does he do, grabs a cup of coffee and with eyes half shut walks straight passed them and doesn't even notice!!!!!!!   Only took him about another 20mins to realise they were there............GREAT!!.
I mean really, how could you walk past and not see a bunch that big and not notice.  Thought he'd forgotten it WAS our anniversary for a sec but he came up with the goods and felt a little embarrassed cause my bunch dwarfed his!!!

We ended up ordering in pizza snuggling up for the night and watching a movie and of course neither one of us was up for having a celebratory drink , we just fed off the grog still running through our veins!!

Valentine Day!

Yep it's Valentine Day and what a day its been.   Hubby finally arrived from Port to an empty house because, of course, I was at the spa.  Decided to use the gift  the daughter Skye had given me for my birthday before I left to go back to Port Douglas for another couple of months.
Loved every minute of it.  Relaxing, beautiful music, ambiance, would go back in a heartbeat! It's the Endota Spa in mornington!!  Thumbs up!!!
If I had any complaint to make is that I looked a complete wreck when I left.  Greasy hair ( from the head massage ) no foundation on, looked like I'd been smokin something illegal cause I was so relaxed, felt half asleep and I had to walk though the shopping centre to get to my car!!!!  Thank god I didn't run into anyone I know!

Home to put in the hair dye to get rid of all the grey hairs.   Can't go out for dinner with the grey roots showing, especially on Valentines day!!    All finished, hair washed and primed, pressies handed over  and I'm feeling pretty good.   I received a lovely bunch of flowers and Victorias Secret Perfume called Angel,

while he received a Bottle of Cointreau, box of chocs and a tattslotto ticket with a card of course.   Well have to admit these aren't the actual flowers.   Couldn't take a pic of those because he bought them from the servo I'm sure!!!  Although they were noice I prefer this pic...(sorry Darling)......
So then we left to go to the restaurant.  Had to be there at 5.30 because they were all booked out. Lovely restaurant, yummy food, good wine but we'd finished by 7.   Manhattan in mornington....highly recommended if your in the area...    But now what to do!!!   We were going to go to a movie but bugger ...Im tired, Johns stuffed and so here I sit in me PJ's punchin away on the computer and about to have a cuppa and watch a movie!!!   SHHHHH..... don't tell anyone I
like to pretend I'm a hip granny!!

Last Babysitting For Awhile!

Well here I am again babysitting the little munchkins.  Daughter is off to do our accounts so my job is to look after Milo and Isla and make some sense out of all the mayhem in the house.  Trying to teach the little darlings to not spread the toys from one part of the house to the other and to quit throwing every cushion they can find on the floor!!!!
Eating can be a bit of a problem too....do I cut the sushi into pieces or give it whole.  Oh! Oh! I cut it and there's a tantrum cause it should have been whole, not to mention the fact that its now soaked in soy sauce!!!  At least they eat almost anything and with a promise of a treat if they finish....no problem!      Well of course thats not my handsome little Milo but I thought you'd get the picture!!!

The day proceeded smoothly and although the weather was quite hot they insisted on going out to play.                                                                                      I will miss them so much as I'm about to head off back home to Port Douglas my real home. Have been here in Victoria for two months now so I suppose I'd better give my hubby a rest from travelling back and forth and stay at home for a couple of months...(IF I CAN)!!!  So pack up the dog, shut the little rental up

and off we go!  But at least I'll have Skype!

Cutting Down!

Well its a struggle this cutting down on the alcohol.  Having a drink every night with a meal leads to two then three and eventually you end up drinking a bottle and it doesn't even feel like its hit the sides.   Not to mention all of a sudden those cute jeans you bought have suddenly developed a faulty zip.  Could get them up easy before....WT!!!
So I've decided the time has come and I have to do something.  So lots of mineral water and stopping at one glass. Okay then, maybe two, but thats it!  Why you say don't I give it up altogether !  Well for one thing I enjoy it. If I did something stupid like Dry Feb, I'd want it even more and probably drink two bottles.
Friend just did that very thing, you know, the rolling of the eyes when I said I was cutting down.
Guess they all think ....Oh Here She Goes Again"......Well this time I'm determined.  I'm already after two weeks,  shedding some belly fat!!    Ok Ok, I have a way to go but I'm telling you they are all going to be amazed, and not to say, a little jealous!!!
So here's to me and my latest goal!! Cheers!

Passing the time!!

Freezing my arse off in this melbourne summer!  Am having the aircon replaced and I'm beginning to wonder why!!   I hear it's going to be changing again at the end of the week so maybe I'll get to use it eventually.
Just had a call from hubby in Port Douglas (my real home) and he said it was so hot there........  almost  40deg and no rain.  Thats pretty hot for port, as the temp doesn't go much above 35 there.  And the humidity....sheez....!!!!  Bit of a worry no rain. Its the tropics and should be raining buckets at this time.
Have a couple of more weeks left down south and then I have to head back to Port Douglas.  Must give hubby a bit of a rest from travelling back and forth.   Have really enjoyed my time here  catching up with friends and family although I've not been able to catch up with the rest of my brothers and sisters, bar one yet. Time flies by and there's so much to do and see.  I babysit the little munchkins two days a week and that makes the weeks fly past and before I know it, its friday and Johns back and we have the weekend to spend together!!

I"ll miss my little munchkins.     Not sure what to do about Winnie the dog whether to take her back with me or leave her here with my daughter as I'm not sure how long I'll be gone.  Poor Winnie, travelling back and forth from the tropical heat to the cold weather of melb....coat on ...coat off.....doesn't know what to make of it all!!!!
At least the cat is settled and happy now living permanently in melb with my youngest daughter Skye.  Travelling back and forth was too much for Boots the cat and so reluctantly we had to leave her here for her own good. At least we get to see and cuddle her every so often!!!
See  she match's the cushion.     Well I'm still sitting here waiting for these guys to finish the installing.  Daughters waiting for me to babysit and I'm just amusing myself while I wait.  Better get off now and see how much progress has been made!

Bye Bye Emily

My gorgeous Niece is off and away to Japan to get married. My sister, myself and my youngest daughter who grew up with Em, all went on a girly weekend (without the blokes, yaaaay) to wish her well and say goodbye.
First stop Chandon winery for lunch!!  Which was amazing by the way!!

Before we set off to the restaurant we had a surprise for Em!!   Shyish and quiet we doned her with a couple of bridey things!!
And of course Champayne!!!

Love you Em!
